Whilst Numark have revealed some amazing new kit over the past 12 months such as the DDS80 and NS7, there have been some pretty glaring holes in their portfolio. Here at DJ Store, we had been hoping we would see a good tabletop CD player with MP3 compatibility and a Total Control variant with onboard sound, similar to the Hercules RMX.

Well it would appear our prayers have been answered at PLASA this year with Numark’s announcement of the ARC3 CD player and the Omni Control.

The Omni Control is the natural evolution of Numark’s bestselling Total Control. Without a doubt, the biggest problem we’ve experienced with Total Control here at DJ Store is the issue of soundcard compatibility. This isn’t always intuitive to someone new to digital DJing. Omni Control gets around this issue by having the soundcard onboard meaning you simply connect the unit to your PC, the output to your PA system or stereo and away you go.

Omni Control is housed in a study looking aluminium case which looks like it’ll take a bit of abuse and comes bundled with Traktor 3 LE and MixMeister Fusion Live so you are good to go out of box. We expect to see the latest in Numark’s move into digital DJing in October.

The ARC3 appears to be somewhat similar to the aging Axis 9 but with a slightly different case. For your money, you get two loop banks and a 5 inch jog wheel as well as digital scratch and an SP-DIF digital output. We’re very excited about getting out hands on the ARC3 which we are again expecting to see in October.
