The worst kept secret in digital DJing has at last been confirmed – the Vestax VFX1 is official and will be shipping September this year. Rumours have abounded for months now but details are still scarce. At MusikMesse this year, the Vice President of Vestax confirmed that the unit will allow full effects control of Serato Itch on the VCI300. We have also heard rumours that it will be compatible with the Numark NS7 but this hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. Check out Skratchworx for more information.

From looking at the controls on the unit and from reading some of the rumours throughout the web, we can take some guesses on what the unit will be capable of. Effects can be applied to individual decks, the microphone or the master output itself. The filters and effects appear to be BPM based – BPM can be taken from ITCH or can be tapped out. Loop rolls can be done from 16 beats down to 1/32nd of a beat. Some controls just simply aren’t clear yet. Remember, most of this so far is guess work but as soon as we have confirmation on features, release dates and pricing, we will let you know.
