Exceptional value for money
By: Hutch

For the money this turntable is unbelievable thats pretty much all i need to say apart from the fact that how so many people complain about the pitch! It's fine on mine instantly changes and have you ever thought that your mixer isnt of the best quality?? TT1650 rules 2006-05-12
excellent decks, excellent price
By: Dj Stef

I've had these decks for a few days and for the price they are simply amazing, a must buy 2006-04-02
Excellent for begginer/intermediate
By: Dj Alki

Got these a few days ago and there pretty good. I dont do scratch mixing but i do like to do long mixes and these are top quality for it.
they have >1kg torque which is impressive for the price. They also look ok.
They hold the pitch amazingly well and combind with the right mat, these would easily perform or outperform much more expensive decks. 2005-10-06
mint turntabels
By: dj martin hill

I got these turntabels for my first and i must say they are mint. i learned eveything i know on these decks they are perfect for beginers. 2005-09-12
Excellent turntables, highly recommended.
By: emjaydee

i bought these decks to start my DJing career, and i must say they are excellent. very good for mixing, but are not so well adapted to scratching. 100% recommended for any beginner DJ looking for reliable decks of a high standard. 2005-09-04
Nothing to touch them for the money
By: Dunc

For the money you can't go wrong, these were my first set of decks and I would recommend them to anyone whether your just starting out or more experienced just wanting some half decent decks on a budget.
The things I found a pain were when you have the pitch cranked up the speed wanders around quite a lo compared withs Technics and other top end decks and also the pitch adjustment on them takes a bit of getting used to as it can be a bit sporadic. But you find me another turntable that performs like this for what these cost. 2005-06-20
Great Starters Deck...
By: Scott C

Being a clueless musician, stumbling into the world of scratch DJing i thought i would start out on a cheap deck (only use 1) so incase i do loose interest, i haven't lost loads of money. I have admit, when i got it, i was real excited, it looked cool and played my records like any old deck usually does. But then i brought a scratch record and this is where life gets complicated.

I first replaced the supplied cart as it wasn't up to the job, it bounced and didn't stick, so i got Shures M4-77's.... good buy indeed.

The thing is, it still skips, but only occasionally (i think its my fault for wearing the record down using the old carts). So after exploring the depths of my deck i find that the tone arm is a bit loose and wooooobbbly (only a little bit though, not to a great extent that its unbearable). This is probably causing all this skipping. And to top it off, i don't think i can tighten it either, so i'm stuffed with a duff tone arm..... damm it.

Whats up with the pitch control, it takes like 5 minutes (well, more like 30 seconds). It seems to slow down okay, but it doesn't speed up for a couple of seconds, whats up with that?

All of the controls such as on-off, start-stop are very accesable, no complaints.

i think this dek is ideal if you are mixng music, but of you're scratching, you're going to need a better deck (straight arm, or mongolian arm... if it exists). Starters, use ths bad boy.

SWEET
By: MAC

If your only starting out, get these, it would be totally pointless to pay for technics etc... if you dont have a clue what to do. Build your confidence up on these bad boys and then move on. I'm still using these after 2 years and I havent had any problems yet, they are due to be sold soon, but I defo reccomend them!!! 2005-04-04
Great beginner decks for the money - they get the job done but you will undoubtedly want to upgrade!
By: djdarwen

These are ideal beginners decks. I Have had them for 3 years now so I am pretty experienced of them. Nothing has gone wrong on both of the decks and they are still going strong. They have low torque and high wow & flutter ratings but that can be expected for the price. However they are good to learn to beatmatch on since you are constantly kept on your toes and I feel beginners decks can help you if you ever have to play out on below par decks in the future. Note also though that they are not ideal for scratching and belong in the bedroom! or some small house parties. If you try to use them at big parties wiv a large sound system they will skip and feedback badly under high volumes and vibrations. In conclusion though they are great decks for beginners beacause of their reliability, simpleness and they get the job done for the money! 2004-11-15
for budget turntables these are great
By: Dj Nox-E

I think these turntables are excellent, keeping in mind the price. These are my first pair of turntables and they've been going strong for two years now with no faults, apart from the target lights burning out but that can be expected in time and they are replacable of course. The wow & flutter is rather high but since im mainly scratching and cutting and im not having to mix for longer than about 15-20 seconds, it doesnt really effect much. However when it comes to beat mixing with dance or house etc, which i attempt occasionally, it does prove to be a bit of a task keeping it all in sync. Dont worry if your not into long blends. The torque is 1kg, which you find is substantial if you get some good slipmats and improvise a bit. Get some ortofons and some sicmats and your gonna be having great fun for at least 2 years. 2004-08-21
excellent price, major problems
By: looking hard

Very good price for a direct drive turntable with 1 Kg torque. But that's where the good things stop. There are some serious problems with this turntable which are: 1) high Wow & Flutter. Having one of the highest wow & flutters of the market in this range of turntables (it's 2004-04-25
Great to start with......
By: Key

Great price and quality
By: Dj Toast

i saved up for my christmas birthday to be well chuffed with these decks. As im only 12 i found these really cool and sractching was possible. Im glad i didnt get the dj in a box. its good knowing u went one better 2003-12-29
great for beginners!!!
By: George

I bought this as my first deck setup, and on the whole, i was impressed with what i got for the money. Easy to setup and with everything i need for scratching, i have been beating the crap out of it everyday since i got it, and have yet to see it faulter. Only slight hiccups i've noticed have been the embarrasing amount of skipping, and a wobbly platter, that make deep scratching almost impossible without turning up the anti skate and tone arm weight. However, if kitted out with a M447, im sure this'll last for any scratch dj for at least a year. 2003-12-29
They look good, and best of all.... They are good !
By: www.djfrisk.cjb.net

brilliant. As you know, there not gonna be as good as technics 1210's and Numarks TTX1's, but they do what you need to do - Mix and Scratch. 2003-11-14
godd for begginers but you'll want to upgrade them quickley
By: Mar

Its a good turntable to learn on, but doesn't have enough power to do more complex scratches. It sometimes changes pitch when i scratch in beats. 2003-10-20
if youre a beginner buy these, theyll last you a year then you can get some vestax, capice?
By: tom knight

As your first pair of decks these are perfect, i scratch on them all day long, but now i think theyre limiting my progress as theyre difficult to even attempt juggling. Great first timers, now im gettin some vestax and teaming them up with these and be the worst scratch dj in the world. 2003-10-14
Good, but get a TT200.
By: Mark

I bought a tt1650 a few months back as a first buy. It's an alright deck, it holds its pitch and it looks nice enough, but it's not great for scratching. I recently got a tt200 (only 50 pounds more) and the difference between the two is incredible. So much more torque, a straight tone arm (which you can replace), it starts up instantly and never skips . The tt1650 looks miserable sitting next to the tt200.So get the tt1650 if you really can't afford the extra - but you could get the amazing tt200 if you went without food for a week... 2003-09-18
Does the job (sorta!)
By: DJ Igan

Good starting decks, but they *do* hinder the learning proccess but simply not being up for the job! The pitch doesnt stay where its supposed to meaning you can hardly EVER walk away from your mix. And if you touch the platter it'll slow down waaaay too much! If the look is what your after i'd say shell out the extra for the TTX's. Much nicer... 2003-08-13
Disapointing Torque
By: The D-Jason

These decks are kinda disapointing. Spend a bit more and get more torque. I find these decks stop a bit too easily when you touch the platter. Only 1kg of torque! Also the change of the pitch when you adjust the slider is very slow due to the low torque and metal platter. I find my mates belt drives better for mixing due to the lighter platter and at £100 less! 2003-07-28
Passable for sure
By: Steve-O

Although chassis construction is cheap with plastic, the motor is much better than tables within this range. Techs's motor is more durable but isn't much stronger than 1650's. Find good mats and believe me, they will work better than techs. I have an amazing combination of mats that almost never stop the platter when u scratch no matter how warped the wax is. 2003-06-26
6months and ull want new ones!
By: DJ Foxie

Ive had these decks for quite sum time, sure they look amazing and if u saw them in a shop ud buy them straight off, butnow afta a while i want to change to a more traditional style look, if u can get hold of older technics, buy them as a first pair, the quality has not moved on much with this range! 2003-06-05
Pretty Sah-Weeeet!
By: X-Ray_Cat

For how much they cost i think these are very nice decks - it does lack a bit of torque but let's face it if you're starting off it doesn't matter :D 2003-04-30
Great priced deck 4 beginners
By: Neil Garland

I've had these decks for about six months now. I'd recommend these as first pair of decks (they've taken me from beginner to intermediate). Excellent value for money but only buy these if you're a beginner. The torque isn't that good and they do skip quite a bit when you start doing tricks or scratching which can be very annoying :( guess u just need to know their limits) 2003-04-12
Good for their price, but nothing spectacular
By: DJ Tommy P

Great first deck, but they feel too plasticky cheap and nasty, and the torque isnt up to much. Take my advice n go 4 the TT200's, they is got same torque as Technics feel really sturdy and DO NOT SKIP!! 2003-01-09
Excellent
By: Dj Murphy

Excellent value for money, would suit any dj, for any style of djing. Excellent for sratching, never let me down. Put a better pair of needles on these decks and would make them 5 out of 5. 2003-01-01
This is dizzy blod
By: Swoosh

All you people who are considering getting these it must mean u are low on funds or are starting out.there are decks that might have extra features and might be alot more powerful, but to tell the truth that doesnt matter.this has the right amount of torque for spinbacks and cueing. Only people with fat hands (heavey handed) would need somethin more powerfull.this has everything u need plus more.and why do pro's need more powerfull ones?i thought they would be good with these and begginers needin more powerfull ones.plus these are the prettiest u can get(next to 1210's mk3 and ttx-1's).my dad has a direct drive deck (not for djing)which looks better than alot of the normal rectangle decks on here and he bought it back in 1979.(ten years before my time). So these are excellent. With there own original design than the usual decade's old rectangle. 2002-12-30
Heavy!
By: DJ Wreckage

Top quality decks for an affordable price. After switching from the belt drive version, i could straight away feel the difference. Smooth, powerful, easy to use; what more could you ask for??? And the removable light just tops things off 2002-12-23
