Ortofon Concorde DJ S Cartridge And Stylus

Ortofon Concorde DJ S Cartridge and Stylus
  (14)
  • Award Winning DJ Cartridges
  • Concorde version mounts directly on your tonearm
  • Available in singles and in pairs
  • Replacement stylus available

The Ortofon DJ Cartridges and stylus sold by DJ Store are widely considered to be the best DJ carts available in the UK. The range is comprehensive, offering a cartridge suited to all disciplines and budgets, in both Concorde (which mount directly to the tonearm) and OM (which are fitted to your headshell) versions.

They have been designed with the hard wear and tear and back cueing from a DJ in mind, featuring a cantilever made from aluminium tube with increased wall thickness. Special attention has also been paid to the attachment of the bearing and the design of the bearing itself. This means that rough treatment will neither damage the cartridge nor degrade its stability or sound quality.

Replacement Stylus are available for all Ortofon carts.

Recommemded

I changed to these from the Stanton 500s and the first very obvious thing I noticed was the higher output and fuller frequency range. These are very loud and thumpy. Only having used them for 2 months I can't comment on their toughness. I use Stanton 680s at home which I think are top for toughness but the Ortofon's still seem to have a clear edge on bass and loudness. Not experienced any cue burn problems yet but still experimenting with tracking. And they play old 7" vinyl well too!! Recommended. 2004-07-07
Perfect for club applications
By: DJ Shift

These carts have the phatest sound and a hot sexy look. A little bit of a challenge when it comes to hip hop style mixing and skipping. It does give cue burn at the wrong tracking force. It all depends on tracking force, record quality, and hand technique/style. Over all, these are awesome, but are better suited in the club, not battles. Love the blue though! 2004-06-26
good stuff
By: dooban

Great for mixing, they wont skip at all even if your record has a dirty big scratch in it. They are very sharp however, so the tiniest nudge or bump will probably course a dirty big scratch!

Ok for scratching, but yes they do wear your vinyls VERY fast i think. I wouldn't recomend them for heavy scratching just if you like a dabble, i find they dont perform too well rewinding... 2004-01-11
Great all rounder...

Nice sound and look good but be prepared to replace the stylus regularly
By: Gaz

Good sound and look cool but not tough enough to withstand any real use. They represent a good value for money cartstylus but for the extra cash i'd recommend the stanton 680's. These have good sound and are tough but don't look as snazzy......what is most important ? You decide. 2003-12-20
OUTSTANDING
By: DJ B

These carts absolutley rip the piss out of the standard stanton, well worth the money, look outstanding, play amazingly, just buy em' u won't be let down. 2003-12-09
If you dont have them...order them now!
By: Andy Street

After using 500al's for a few months (i bought my decks 2nd hand, so ive got no idea how old the carts were) one of my decks started skipping so i decided to go all out after hearing some advice and buy ortofons. They are really good quality, worth every penny, they sound better, feel better and they look sexier too...always important:) 2003-12-07
Cracking performance but not convinced
By: Treeman

I bought these bad boys about a year ago now and they stood the test of time to a certain extent, but tended to have a few issues when i started scratching a few months back. Very hardy needles indeed and the sound output is impressive but they need a 5p piece to keep them from jumping on some of the hand-me-down scratch records my friends donated to me. I have had friends in the same siuation as me with these models. Will be getting a pair of shures for xmas this year i think, simply to have a more objective oppinion. I will let you know how they compare... 2003-11-22
buy em
By: Ian

i got these a few months ago, and they seemed to play well and look fucking bad. but later on i noticed one of them was making my vocal tracks sound like steven hawkins and the bass aswell. i set the weight so it was real light on the record and now it plays fine and it still sticks in the groove which was my main worry. so i'll give it a 4 coz of the time i waisted trying to work out that problem, but anyway buy em. 2003-04-11
One word - OUSTANDING

Oh my god! Absolutely brilliant. Just received my first pair and wacked them onto my ttx's ... Er my mixes 'feel' better... Smoother... Clean 'n crisp! 2003-01-19
great quality, superb
By: Charlie MacCormick

jus got these for the christmas jus gone. wat can i say, they are well worth the £100 and you can notice the difference straight away. the sound quality is clearer and more crisp and i dont kno whether it was jus psychological or if they do make it easier to mix but they sure seemed to improve my mixing! all in all well worth it, go get some! 2003-01-13
very good!
By: Mike aka Djvex

Well, what can i say? i have been using standard stanton 505sk's and these carts p*ss all over them! they hold the groove in the record very well, they are also very solid and well made. The only bad thing about them is that they cue burn your records easily but it depends on the stylus pressure. i say BUY EM! 2002-10-22
