Xone 92 Vs Pioneer DJM 800/1000

Without a doubt this is the best 4 channel mixer on the market today and is heavily rivaled by the Pioneer DJM 800/1000. The ONLY area that the Pioneer beats the Xone:92 is on effects features but on sound & build quality (which in my mind are the important features when buying a top grade mixer) the Pioneer does not come close. If you are into your effects features you are better off getting the Xone and adding external effects kit to it (lets face it, if you can afford this mixer a few additions shouldn't break the bank). Which will then (with the right kit) easily surpass the Pioneers effects features without compromising on sound & build quality. 2007-12-30

I can't help but feel that this mixer became successful on the back of a powerful marketing campaign. The controls are flimsy and the channel faders are so light that if you blow on them they will move! As for the sound quality everyone is raving about... read on... I was recently involved in a club sound system installation where the owners had specified an A&H Xone92 mixer. We spent almost 2 days trying to figure out why the bass seemed to lack punch; the mixer was the last on our suspect list until we hooked up a Pioneer DJM800 which not only fixed the fluffy bass problem caused by the Allen Heath, but it brought more substance to the sound as a whole.... not to mention the superior controls and build quality. 2005-03-16

If you cant afford the allen & heath xone v6(very few can) then this is the next best thing. Sound quality is reason enough to purchase this mixer. This will take your djing to the next level. Its a pure beast of a mixer. Compare the specs with the djm600 or any other mixer for that matter and you'll see why its the best. 2004-06-14

xone:92 - wow!

i've used all sorts of mixers over the years, ranging from numark, citronic, vestax, rane etc, and have myself always sworn by the pioneer djm600, of which i *had* been a proud owner for 4 years or so.

however, my loyalty to the pioneer (which is an excellent mixer in fairness) was quickly replaced by admiration for what allen & heath have done with the xone:92 - a mixer which i now regard as being the "perfect" mixer (if there is such a thing!)

the build quality is outstanding - it's built like a tank! The faders are smooth, the eq's both wide ranging and precise, the effects pretty good once you've figured them out, and the sound quality is hi-fi standard!

i'm hard pushed to fault it in any way! Worth every penny! 2004-06-07

by far the best dj mixer out there!! this thing is a beast. all faders are really smooth, the xfade adjust is actually quite sharp, i only do very basic scratching and found it great to use. xfade isnt as loose as you'd like but thats a minor thing.

its all about the sound quality - this this blows my old pioneer djm500 out of the water, you can drive this mixer into the red and it has very minimal distortion!!

the filters are excellent and add another level of creativity to play with and master!!!

great cueing system, pre and post eq, split , even monitor the aux sends.

2 mix outs, plus a booth out and a record out!! it has every connection you could need! plus an improved aux send return!!

havent tried the midi connection out yet, i may give it a go soon, but havent needed it yet!

This is the best mixer ever. The sound quality is unrivalled, the features are unsurpassed - especially the low frequency oscillator. The 4 band eq on four independant channels are superior, and the low, mid and high band pass filters give excellent flexibilty for creative djs, especially for people into trance like myself.
the penny + giles crossfader is smooth and not too loose, unlike the vestax pmc-37 pro - the mixer i had used beforehand, with the xone: 92 crossfader curve being more to my liking. In addition, the intelligent post eq system is excellenty implemented.
combine this and my ttx1's and you have got the ultimate setup for the real creative djs out there, i'm now only waiting for the technics cd decks for my dream home setup...
