  • 2 Channel (each switchable for phono/line)
  • Replaceable Crossfader
  • Mini Cue crossfader for accurate mixing
  • 1/4" Microphone Jack

This best selling entry level mixer first appeared in 2002 in the extremely popular DJ in a box and Battlepacks. It's been so popular that Numark have decided to make it available it on its own.
A simple 2 channel mixer, with 2 band EQ controls and gain on each channel, microphone input and 1/4" stereo headphone jack output, this is going to become a classic starter mixer, and is well worth the money for beginners. The mixer features a replaceable crossfader, and a mini crossfader for panning between channels one and 2 in your headphones, so you can check the mix out before you make the change.
All in all an excellent starters product.

By: jake

If you are starting out and on a budget then buy this mixer!
By: Olly King

I have been using this mixer for around 6 months, I was a complete beginner and had no previous experience.

The first thing to say about the DM950 is that it is limited on features, however a complete beginner would not find this a problem because it has everthing a beginner needs. Now, however after 6 months of use I wish it had 3 band EQ, instead of 2 band. I would also like to see a channel volume LED display. But I suppose you cannot argue when you look at the price!

The fader has performed well so far, and there have been no audible sound leaks or distortions.

One bad thing is the quality of the heaphone socket. The fit around the headphone plug is not perfect and so you have to wiggle the headphone plug occasionally, but that is a minor critisism.

If you are an absolute beginner on an extreme budget then you should buy this mixer. However if you can afford to spend just £20 more you should buy the Numark DM1050 which has: 3 Band EQ, LED channel volume display and an extra output for recording your mixes. It also has 3 band EQ for the microphone input. 2005-06-21
Numark DM950 is disappointing
By: Mel

I bought this mixer about 5 months ago. Though it seemed good at first, now the crossfader crackles (i don't do scratching, just mixing)and i am getting clipping on the mic input. Its really annoying. I have changed back to my old audioline mixer and will be looking to buy a new one in the near future. 2005-04-18
Quality
By: JDM

Yeah great quality for money and great for if you want start up. Would recommend a new mixer though quite soon after you've grasped the basics. 2005-01-27
Beginners
By: steve

recommend it if your just starting up like i was. tis good fun to mess around with. You are limited to what you can do and the crossfader is poor but is good value for the money. recommend it for anyone just starting as is easy to use and cheap. 2004-12-20
not for the scratchers
By: dan

weel it is a good biginner mixr, good for one thing mixin, people need to learn that this is a beginner mixer for crosfading and mixing not for scratchin so dont complain when it moans when you try and scratch 2004-11-24

By: dj dragbak

i've had this mixer for nearly a year.its gr8t for a beginer.its got the basics for a biginer and would recomend it to a beginer.it's not the best mixer to scratch with because the crossfader is not the best. 2004-11-24

By: DJ RaNdOlF

s**t
By: rich blackwell

Had this as part of a package less than 6 months ago, for the first 3 months it was ok, but now everything is popping and cracking, the crossfader, the cue fader, the line/phono switch. Im gonna upgrade to a numark dxm06 and hope it lasts longer. 2003-12-31
LACK OF scratchin's makin me itch
By: Wonderboy

got this with ma first pair o decks. They're good for a while but they dont give you much room to grow. Start out with this but you'll need a new mixer in a a few months maximum. 2003-12-05
GOOD FOR BEGINNERS AT THE START
By: tim newt

For beginners its ok but after a few months of it you get board and want a change, bot very good for scratchin but still a good mixer for beginners. Soon get board of it though 2003-09-30
save up n get a decent mixer, it will cost you less in the long run
By: Modulus

I got this mixer as part of a package deal n it was all good until i attempted basic scratch techniques. After a couple weeks the fader was crackling n leaking so that you have to resort to mixing with the volume controls all of the time. Have to fork out for a new mixer now! 2003-09-29
Its just ok....
By: dan

Good for a beginner, but the crossfader is not robust enough and will wear out very quickly, and the line/phono switches click. 2003-01-27
alright
By: Piemaster

Good for a beginner but i have for a month and it is leeking sound! I would save money and get a better quality one. 2003-01-16
Very durable, a good mixer
By: Dj Boy Wonder

Very durable. Its a quality product, for a beginner or an advanced Dj. It was my first mixer in wich I learnt to mix on. I've owned a few mixers in my life but this is one of my favourites. Quality! 2002-12-07
crossfader sucks
By: jason

It does the job; but not for very long. Ive only had it for a few months and the crossfaders leaks sound. I know they run out, but it rediculus to sell something thats only gonna last a few months before i have to replace it. 2002-11-30
Excellent for beginners
By: Steven Taylor

The DM950 is a brilliant mixer for beginners, due its simplist layout and ease of use. Its also pretty hard-wearing, as being a DnB DJ i do a bit of scratching, and to say the least the crossfaders taken a bit of a hammering; but the mixer is still going strong. Obviouly you are going to need to upgrade at some point but for the price this bad-boy eats the competition alive. 2002-11-29
durable as hell
By: DJ Rider

This mixa is great ive had mine for almost two months now and nothing has worn out or gone dead! this mixer is so durable that i could probably drop it off a building and go and do a set with it the same night! (even though i wouldn't) NICE

i hope numark give me some cred for that! 2002-11-03
Brilliant
By: DJT

An elxelent mixer for the price been scartching on my technics 1210s and technics scratch mixer for 4 years now and to be truthfull i can't really tell the difference from this to my £450 techncis mixer so..... Get buying it. Ideal for starters due to a slight lack of functions.
