good but feels cheap

Just so you know I am comparing this to the hercules RMX console which i personally own. My friend has this mixer and last saturday I used it for the first time at a party. I think the mixer is good, but feels very cheap. For example when twisting the low, mid and high toggles there is sometimes random slight friction and it also very easy (too easy in my eyes) to push the toggles down activating the kills, which is some what annoying. Also when used in conjunction with the DJIO Soundcard the headphones are sometimes not loud enough to hear over the music playing out to the audience which is also very annoying. But the jog wheels are very sensitive in scratch mode, which is very good as it is easy to do backspins. I also like the centre toggle to scroll up and down your music files. The toggle to select your desired effect is also very easy to use and is a great addition. I would say this mixer is good for home use, and thats it. If you want something more professional with a better build i'd recommend the hercules rmx console or the numark omni controller. 2008-06-10
Cheap as chips, does the job, looks cool

First of all; this is the place to buy it. I had some initial ordering problems, so i emailed the helpdesk and moments later i was inundated with emails telling me they'd fixed it! This unit is great. I'm incorporating a computer system (with traktor) into a vinyl set-up, and this controller is ideal to sit at the back of my mixer! It does the job; a little plasticky, but everything works! The LED's are awesome as well for dark enviroments. Not convinced it'll last more than a year though....i'll have more money by then! 2008-02-16

Fantastic piece of kit, used in conjunction with DJ IO Soundcard provides a complete and easy MP3 dj'ing solution. For someone who was used to vinyl, this was a great way to get back into dj'ing and use the latest technology. Big thanks to Scott & JJ at DJStore! 2008-02-10
Good buy for beginners on a budget

If you read this review you are probably interested in buying one: I recommend buying the DJ IO with it .They've been made and tested hand in hand and it shows.Personally I tried a couple of other soundcards but in the end got the Io for sound quality and ease of connection.Had to download Vista drivers from their website though.The compact size is not a problem.Its a hardware substitution for mouse clicking but on Cue I still end up using the mouse here and there eg skipping throughandto change between track remain /elapsed and bpm/pitch on the interface.Dont know if its just my unit but sometimes one track sounds louder than another even if gain is = and both 320kps Bottom line- its for playing in and enjoying yourself , it wont give you hardware confidence playing out but I dont think it was designed for clubs anyway.Good buy for beginners,intermediates dont bother 2007-12-15
This is an oustanding bit of DJing kit for people who already have mp3 music already.

The Numark Total Control is definatly worth getting if you already have the music on your computer and want to learn how to DJ! It is very easy to use and the provided Cue LE software and has all the features you need to get started. I just downloaded and installed the lastest version of CUE LE from the Numark website and it was ready to use. I found this was the cheapest way to get started on DJing and it still looks professional! Also excellent service from DJ Store! Ordered the items and they came the next day as promised! If I am getting anything else for DJing, its going to be from here! Thanks.
