The Akai SynthStation 49 is the first true iPad performance tool for producers, DJs and musicians. Working seamlessly with SynthStation software, it offers a world of music creation possibilities, including direct in-app MIDI recording from the velocity-sensitive keyboard, a full array of transport controls and nine MPC-style drum pads. The SynthStation 49 is also iOS CoreMIDI compatible so it will work with dozens of apps already in the App Store with countless more on the way.

The iPad can be positioned exactly as you want it with the adjustable-angled cradle which also powers the unit while the USB/MIDI port allows you to control your favourite computer software.

The SynthStation 49 is the first professional keyboard controller with direct MIDI performance recording onto an iPad. The keyboard, pitch and modulation wheels and sustain pedal input provide intuitive feel and essential options for musicians to compose, perform and record. The nine drum pads give users immediate and intuitive beat manipulation abilities over music contained within the SynthStation software. Program, Sequence, Song select and Transport buttons also provide simple and easy control of the most important aspects of the software.

A pair of 6.3mm outputs with separate volume control and included for each connection to other pro audio equipment while the headphone output allows for practice and composition in private. The USB port can power the keyboard as well as sending MIDI to and from music software. The SynthStation 49 will even work as a traditional USB MIDI controller for your computer.
