Pukka !
By: lee

Peter Wild, u either have a duff unit or u need to learn to beatmatch ! I had my one of these for a few years and only upgraded to Pioneer as they are the club standard. Brilliant little decks for a bedroom DJ. 2009-10-05
Great but....
By: dave

Had an axis 9 for a few months now. I love the various fx and the vinyl emulation. very responsive! BUT: Occasionally the platter doesn't respond when trying to scratch or move the track. Have to reboot the deck to get it going again sometimes several times! Also if you are burning cdrs to use, it doesn't give you the track details. Unless you use nero or something like that to connect to internet to get track info - for underground music this is not so easy.... so, you should write them down on a bit of paper or inlay card, unless you are really good at guessing your tracks by the first few bars lol. other than that a great player i also own pioneer cdj200 and much prefer the axis 9 for features- shame axis 9 has no mp3 playback and no other numark cdj has mp3 playback and decent fx. They need to sort that out! 2009-07-08
Great piece of kit!
By: John

These were my first cd decks and am i glad i got these. Not only are they easy to use for the begginer they have pleanty of features for you to experiment with and take you to the next level. I have used these professionly at many gigs over the last two years with great results. It is true through they dont allways load up written cds but i find not completly filling the disc when writting it the best way to avoid this problem.90% of my cds are written and on different types of disc, it has never caused me a major problem. If these are in your price range buy them they are top notch machines at a great price. 2009-01-25
Enjoy Numark Axis 9's
By: INDIARIA

i bought some of these around a year ago with the aim of replacing them with some cdj 400's however as long as you have a good mixer that you can play your laptop through i have to say keep them!! I have used these on loads of gigs and not a spot of bother the only downfall i can see is that the platter is not larger. Forget all the talk of price range these are a bloody good little unit and i would recomend them fully. ROCK ON NUMARK!!!! 2008-09-03
Great decks
By: Dj Lewis

I use normally the Pioneer CDJ'S in the clubs all the time but for at home i really recommend these decks. they are super value for money and they basically do everything the cdj's do. I just could not beleive what you get for half the price of the cdj's. Also super fast delivery from dj store and they are most likely the cheapest. 2008-06-18
Absolutely awesome piece of kit!!!
By: DJ Craigyboy

No need to spend £600 - £800 each for the Pioneers when these will do everything that they do for half the price - FO$R TWO OF THEM!!!! Well worth the money and if you're looking to upgrade to something great, this is the product for you!!!!! 2008-01-10

Outstanding and better alternative to rack mountable systems
By: Corey

Having had a number of CDJ systems I feel that this one is the best so far.The response you get from the jog wheel is a little sensitive at first but you soon get the feel of it.Mine were only delivered yesturday but after about half an hour the mixes were flying out.Nice and sturdy build quality paired with clear layout and moderate display.I would say a more intermediate product as the effects and other functions would soon get a starter a little lost.Well impressed all round and a fine sub for vinyl. 2007-04-05
axis 9
By: dj double a

Iv had these decks 4 around 6 months now!! Very very good! The bpm counter is not 100% accurate, which in my opinion is a good thing! U should have to do some work right!! But overall a very good buy, and if u want to get the most out of the effects u'l need proper speakers or else the sounds are distorted! 2007-02-13
very good step up from beginner decks, and worth stickin with for all but the best paid of DJs!
By: Matt

I have these. - after having the beginner Numarks as a beginner, which i found to be great for practicing skills and learning beatmatching, i felt it was time to upgrade, and after the old numarks had been so great, i thought i'd stick to Numark, and IM SO GLAD I DID!!! they are great, and well more fun than the old decks! they are of a great pro quality at amateur prices. coupled with a good mixer, these can mix as professionally in quality and excitement as decks of twice the price! you just gotta know how to do it! practice pays off with these, and the results are astonishing! well recommended for the skilled amateur! 2007-01-29
VERY GOOD !!
By: dj-vibe

I've been d.j ing for 7 months now and the axis 9 is a great help !! The scratching is amazing and the effects are good !! The beatcounter is not to good but who needs it best thing is your ears !! ;) i reccomend it to any d.j from begginer to pro !! 2006-12-03

not bad!
By: psyntific

Ive used the numark axis 9s 4 about 2 years now.Very satisfied. I live in australia and do alot of outdoor doos, and have found them extremely durable. The seamless loops and 12 effects give endless possibilities to your mixing prospects. Although the sound quality is not quite as good as their poineer counterparts these cd players still deliver a crakin performance! These cd players (in my opinion) are the best units for the price for all professionals, intermediates and begginers! 2006-07-24
my opinion
By: alectronic

ok ... let's try to pass this s..t about not being able to beat mix with these ... it' all about the latest firmware ... if you have it - these very cheap decks kick pioneers ass ... who is alsow ovarated by the way ... there are a lot of decks out there that are far better then pioneer but no one gives them a try ... i played on a lot of cd players through the years ... and i can say that these are very good cd players ... worth every peny ... with the money for 1 CDJ1000 yow can buy two of these and still have some money left 4 the cab ... the so called problems with them have only the ones that didn't upgrade their software ... if one of you even tried to send a email to numark support they would have told you that these problems don't exist after the latest firmware ... in my opinion these deck are VERY good for any level of dj ... PRO or beginner ... the only thing i canot say about any piece o hardware is the lifetime of the product ... i have them 4 about 4 months but i have another friend who have's two of these for about 3 years ... and belive me they've seen some rough handling ... played a lot of people on them ... and been carried around at a lot of underground partyes around the city ... they handled the bumps and shakes very well ... general and final opinions ... worth the money ... very good efects ... better then the pioneers cdj1000 ... good touch sensitive jog weel ... buttons feel capable of withstanding any hits ... it's made out of steel - only the back of the cd it's plastic ... loop functions very well but i don't use it that much ... the tray - you have to take care a bit of that if it's opened (feels exacly like your ordinary cd-rom tray) but i think this is better because it can last longer then the slot loading cd-players - slot loading cd-players have very complicated mechanics inside and can fail a lot farset then the ''clasics'' ... bulletproof beat keeper - VERY small diferences between the BPM of the track and what it's actualy showing ... the jog a little to sensitive but i've seen that pioneer is going this way to ... the pitch absolutely great 6-12-25-100% ... in intense lighting (on the beach) you could try a little harder to look at the display but this is the only problem with it - fyll of info on screen by the way ... the search function it's a little nasty i have to say - maybe the only thing that gets me stresed ... i never had a cd that this player couldn't read (i use mainly Traxdata and TDK but i alsow have some 52x cd writen at full speed and some no name cds that worked perfect) ... the LOCK KEY FUNCTION works good at small pitch diferences - if you have a house track at -10 you will hear the diference - don't know about your audience thow' ;) ... and that's about it with them .. if you have any questions about them you can email me ... happy mixing ! 2006-05-24
The best cd player in price/quality relationship
By: Dani Miralles

I've been using the axis9 from almost a year and everything i must say is that works very well. Beatkeeping is cool, scratching is great... Only a minor defects: when you put a cd that is more than 80 minutes length, the player hangs and you must restart it. 2006-03-07
BUY 1 AND U WONT B DISAPOINTED
By: DJ Robbie B

THIS CDJ IS ABSOLUTLY WICKID. dont b put off by woteva any1 says about this CDJ it kicks arse!. its value for money and does all the things any dj cud want. the touch sensitive jog wheel is amazin. i actually think now that its easier to beat match on this than a real record deck. also the scratching and effects are amazin. 2005-12-28
5 Stars for definate
By: DJ Deepa

i got a pair of numark axis 9s for christmas 2005 and was very inpressed. i found the scratch effect very good. i also liked the other effects. i found the product to be very sturdy and to have a very good anti shock system. also numarks beatkeeping and key lock technology are excellent. im am very happy with this product and would recommend it beginners and professional like myself. 2005-05-07
Excelent for the price
By: RobC

For the price you cant really beat the functionality of the Axis 9s. They are easy to get to grips with for new users and have plenty of functionality to explore as you get more advanced.
I have experienced a few problems with the jog wheel not working for pitch bending on power up and some issues with the loop function which a power on/off (a few times) usually fixes. Also, some times cdrs skip very slightly and mess up the mix. I would recomend burning cdrs using the lowest setting possible to avoid this problem as its usually badly burned cdrs not a fault of the deck. If you are having problems go to the manufaturers website and download the software updates and re-calibrate the decks as instuced on the site, that fixes most of the issues people are having with them. 2005-05-05
Excellent Quality And Value!
By: DJ Chris Loop

Excellent piece of equipment!! So good infact I ordered a second one and did away with my old cd decks. Theres nothing that cant be done on these decks and at a price that cant be beat 2005-03-11
Excellent value, feature laden....
By: Ash

Excellent deck, very nice quality, the top plate is all metal, doesnt feel out of place next to a 1210....

Plety of effects, loops, tactile jog wheel, brake and startup adjust etc etc...

The fella who mentioned its pitch not been stable.... go to the Numark site, your deck needs calibrating, mine was doing the same, quick 30 sec job to fix....

Much better than a vinyl turntable, easy to use, although if you are new to cdj decks I would recommend the Axis 2 to start off for its simple but quality layout. 2005-03-11
as a professional i rate these professional
By: dave gee

I dont undertand these people saying the axis9 go out of sync. Like all BPM counters they r not 100% accurate and should never be relied upon to beat match. They stay in sync 4 me 100% (as reliable as my 1200mk2) + I spin house and prog with no problems. As for scratching, these are brillant, 4 settings for scratching, 1 which will release the record at the exact speed it was spinning at when u began the scratch. These people who disapprove just dont know the full functionality of these wonderful cd players. Look at most of the cd players comming on to the market now, all copying the fx bank and layout of the axis cd players. I have been djin 4 6 yrs and used cdjs alot when out djin but i still favour these axis 9!!!! 2005-02-07
Exelent for smaler venues
By: Dewi

I've had this c.d. player for just over a month now, its an excellent piece of kit, it's got as mentioned, key lock and 100% pitch fade witch enables you to accurately line up a acapella and change the key so the vocals are as sung but at the same speed as the track. These are very easy to move around and ideal for smaller venues. I would defiantly recommend buying some of these! 2005-02-02
Excellent CDJ
By: DJ TiTan

Well ive seen other peoples views on this cdj, and to be honest i do agree with alot of the stuff about not being able to get the beats in sync. I have 2 of these, and in my eyes they are better than cdj100's, but at the end of the day its all down to personal opinion. I mix trance, hard house, hard trance, and hardcore, and have no trouble getting the beats in sync and leaving it mix! 2005-02-02
Hands down still think It's Numark's flagship
By: Huff

I've been spinning for 12 years.I love my Axis 9's! 100% pitch control & key lock down to a full stop, compact and loaded with effects! Bpm lock is a nice feature but I don't even bother with it since I'll keep 2 beats in sync anyway till the sun comes up! I just ONLY wish it had mp3 capability like the CDX! [it has more effects than the CDX...no moving platter though] 2005-01-09
good for beginner to intermediate
By: barry

ive owned these decks for a while now. when i first got them i was absolutely chuffed with and would have given them 5 stars, but like most products the weaknesses shone through after using them for around 6 months.

the main problem with these is the unstable pitch. i struggle to mix house or trance as it just goes out of sinc far too easily.
the next problem is the play button. 90% of the time i seem to get a double tap on the play button which means i cant cut in r and b or hip hop very easily and is embarrasing to me when mixing live cos people think its dogy djing.
lastly on the sratch function it is near impossible to get the music to play at the right speed when finishing the cratch, its either too fast or too slow.

i would reccommend these to the begginer to intermediate but deffo not to the advanced dj. youll be better off withe with the pioneers or even the numark cdxs if they can cure these probs. 2005-01-06
grrrrrr
By: Big Rich

oh my god these decks are amazing i wish i could un plug them and sleep with them. Amazing pair of decks i can sure get the party started with these beast oh daddy. 2005-01-06
Good Beginner
By: Jake Harris

I like this product alot. They are good for beginning and messin around with, but when it comes to pro or club use look elsewhere. It has good effects but the beatmatching is erratic and often unlines itself whilst in the mix. It is how ever better for hip hop n rnb mixing where this isnt such a key issue. However with dance of any kind id avoid these. Jake 2004-10-15
Good scratching rubish mixing
By: Peter Wild

DJ Store are great to buy from but and the Axis 9 is great for scatch mixing. However I am in the process of ditching 2 axis 9s and a DMO6 for a CDN90 & gemani FX7000 as I have found that you cannot beat match for more than a few secconds before the tracks BPM change slightly. This is infuriating as the cued up track your going onto soon goes out of sync. In my oppinion it is impossible to coninually sync on the fly. Other that that though top product and service from DJ Store. 2004-06-28
If you want to play trance dont bother........it has to be house!
By: Dave Funnell

I spent month debating over what new decks to upgrade my old axis-2's. My mate has a pair of cdj800's and I liked them but couldn't afford them also the denon dns-3000's. So I plumped for these and I have to say how chuffed I am with them. In my opinion far beeter than the denons and after using both mine and the cdj800 at a party better then those aswell! First class. 2004-05-05
Excellent Buy
By: Dan Massey

Brilliant CD Deck at a bargin price. Does everything u want. Good button layout.
Note does not have midi or digital out anymore, disappointing.
Recommeded and so is buying for djstore.co.uk 2004-03-31
Cheap and a pleasure to mix with :-)
By: Christo

I've had these cd players for almost 6 months and i havent had any problems exept for the fact that with certain cd writers you have to write at 4x or you might encounter a jump when you play it in the axis 9. On the other hand since i got a pioneer dvd-rw drive (a06) i've been writing audio cd's at 16x and they play perfect in the axis 9 cd player. All in all a very good cd player! 2004-03-01
Beautiful...
By: Ciccio Gianquinto

Hello, i'm italian and i don't speak english very well, but i want to say to the other dj's in the world how beautiful are these cdj's... First i've buyed pioneer cdj's 800 but when i try this numark, i buy it!!
beautiful... Bye! 2004-02-13
Stunning deck loaded with features
By: Justin Dougherty

Its taken me many months to decide on the deck for me. Everywhere i went they all said to get the pioneer cdj800. But i wanted something different. I finally ordered a pair of these. Stunning. The best deck i have used in 6 years. Simple effective layout (denon series are overcomplex), and great fx. The touch sensitive wheel is pure genius. The vinyls are relegated to the corner. These are just sweet. :-) 2003-04-28
Great features, great feel, great value!!!
By: Paul L

Very impressive piece of kit and a snip for the money. Has some great effects, simple and seemless looping and looks/feels good too. I especially like the button sizes and layout, with the most important buttons being biggest. This makes it really easy to pick up and get mixin! The scratching features are pretty good although not as good as viynl, however the 4 differnt scratch modes, give the axis 9 an advantage by allowing you to scratch from mid-track back to the start or any set cue points... Nice! The jog wheel has a nice feel to it too is isn't too sensitive unlike other cd players i've used. The only minus point being the key lock, which doesn't work briliantly when the pitch difference is shifted a few percent more than the original track speed. But i think the effectiveness of this depends on the midrange levels of the track. Still a useful feature nevertheless. All in all this is great value for money, especially as it does most of the things top of the range players do for half the price.Go get it now.
