Good Decks, Good Price only let down if torque!

I got the Numark Battle Pack a while back and I am quite happy with it. The build quality is doubtable though as one of my decks already has a little crack in them. The mixer was ok, though it only had a two band eq. so I sold it and bought one with a 3 band. Torque is ok, but I would highly recommend getting sic mats or butter rugs or something with a plastic disc under the mat which will make it seem like your turntable has more torque. After you get good, you will need to move on to something better quite quickly such as the Technics 1200 series.

Delivered quickly, found it really easy to set up. These are my first set of decks and for the price they are amazing-£269 for direct drives, the mixer, monitor speakers,and headphones! Everything to start off! I've only had them a few days but have already taught myself to beat match and I love them. It will be a while before I want to upgrade, I definately recommend these for anyone starting out.

these are excellant if you are just starting Dj'ing. the turntables are top notch, iv had them for a almost a year now and there still going on strong. the mixer is good for begginers, but you should probably buy a new one as you start to get better. the carts and stylus are also good for begginers but are should be changed as your skills progress, they arnt very good for scrathcing and the sound quality isnt amazing but they are good if your just starting.
overall this is a great setup for begginers, i would recommed them to anyone.

Ideal for newbies

Had this since Xmas '05. Decent package for beginners for the money. They look quite decent I think. The lack fo torque is the only thing that I don't like about these decks. You will probably want to upgrade to a pair of techs when you have mastered the decks. The mixer is pretty basic and does the job.

Beginner's Ideal

I've had this Battlepack on my desk for six months now and it still hasn't let me down. It offers everything you need to start to mix and with slight adjustment (for me - headshell adjustment to creat a straight tone arm angle!) can start to do a bit of scratching. Mixer is very simple but it's all you need to start with and although I've updated my mixer (Kam 4-channel) I often use this due to the simplicity and ease of use it offers. Amazing product!

A great starting setup

I was a complete beginner DJ when i bought the set last christmas. Since then i have used them to progress to playing house parties and the like. I am now shopping for a replacement mixer and carts. The built quality is, as has been mentioned already, fantastic for the price, and although they feel plasticy, they are perfect for a beginner. I'm upgrading parts because i want to progress, not because they've worn out - no doubt they'll go on for at least another year to come! Simply put, an ideal solution for a beginner which will last as long as you're happy to use them.

An excellent package for a beginner

An excellent start for any DJ. I've had mine since Christmas 04 and have had no problems with it at all, contains everything you need to get started and will keep any new DJ occupied for a long time. The decks feel a bit plasticy and clunky but this doesn't really affect the performance, and what do you expect for the price! Excellent value.

I bought this package about 8 months ago and have just used them non stop. I do lots of scratching and they have good feel and are durable. The only one problem i had with them was when scratching constantly for over 5 mins they go a bit slow and loose there pick up. But just turn htem off and back on and off you go. If you want to try djing these are the best to get.

Great pair of decks

For the price, you can't get better. I play funky and progressive house and as you know, mixes between tunes can last several minutes with this style of music. The pitch of these turntables is constant forever, I can't recommend them enough for the price. The mixer is basic but not a problem for starters.

Well suprised!!! get them if your startin out

Recently I played a set for a bar which I thought would have a pair of techs. I was very suprised when they had these babies on a table. I practice on vestax and play underground hiphop. These decks were able to get me thru my 3 hour set without any glitches. Fair enuff the torque isn't as good as the ttx1's or the pdx's or the new stantons. But they hold pitch well and are suprisingly good to mix with. I was using ortofon scratch carts with butter rug slip mats and they hardly skipped when i cued or did a small scratch. The Mixer is very budget and the cross fader is terrible. Beginners shud get these as their first pair, when they have mastered these then mixing on techs or pdx's shud be as easy as pie. Peace

The best deck set for under 500...

Very good set of decks. For the price, they cant be beat. The mixer is in dire need up updating, but everything else works like a charm! The only think i wouldnt recomend these for are hardcore DJ's who beat juggle or scratch. They dont have the torque needed for instant starts. They hold a pitch FOREVER! Great set of decks.

great decks for a cheap and nasty price

Ive been into djing and mc ing for about 3 years now, and i had the numark dj in a box for about 2 years and the belt kept on snapping so in the end i thought that all the amount of times i bought new belts i could have had new decks so i went and bought the numark tt 1625's because a mate reccomended them to me and i am outstanded with them so far the only thing is you might need to upgrade the mixer in a couple of months top notch decks for a cheap and nasty price. And big up for dj store next day delivery as promised.

Look really good, and hold beats

These are better than the Numark "Dj in a box" packs, but main in 2 things-
1) Pitch holding, getting 2 identical records and testing how long it took to go out of sync, which was about 2 minutes. I tryed the same thing on my friends tt-1610's (dj in a box) and it only lasted about 40 seconds to 1 minute.
2) Looks, these look sooo much better than any other decks for around the same price. One of my mates, who doesn't know much about decks, thought these cost about £500! That just shows how nice they look. The picture above is a computer generated image (i think) and they look much better in real life, the tone arms are chrome and the platters look like they are when they spin!
The mixer is decent for about 4 months, then u'll want at least smoother cross and volume faders and 3 band eq.
The neddles are fine... honest. There is a very very slight difference in sound quality compered to my mates ortofon ProS's.
Overall exellent set of decks, if ur not too fussy about the looks and whole beatmatching thing, then go for the basic dj in a box pack and save some money for a decent mixer.

I have had these for 6 months now and they have survived 4 parties and still hold up well. They have cheap, good quality carts and I am well happy with them. It is only worth shelling out for technics if you intend to move them around and play out with them, otherwise buy these and have a free holiday in the sun.

Yes yes these decks are the thing people! So great crystal clear sound even when using them through Line-In on my sound card and out my 5.1 surround sound system! What a bargain for Direct Drives! I use them to even broadcast my own hosted radio station to do live mixes to my mates! I can even record all the music to my pc!
Easy to set up, big up Numark for the excellent package! Alo djstore.co.uk because their service is outstandingy good quality! Only thing i'm a bit baffled by the two start/stop buttons, which is which; battle or club? Hmmmm!
None the less, if your buying your first pair of decks get these and your away! Don't buy Belt driven decks, hwen these awesome Directs are on top notch offer!!

Top-notch decks for a reasonable price.

Just recieved these decks yesterday and they are just fantastic. This is my 1st set of decks. I was going to settle for the belt drive version but decided to go with these direct drive ones instead. They were very easy to set up. The instructions provided will get you going so don't be worried if you dont have a scooby (idea) where to start. These Numarks are very good for basic scratching and mixing but also provide for adequate room for improvement. Im into the scratching myself and have been having loads of fun on these. The decks look stunning and feel very sleek. A very good package for the beginner DJ at a VERY reasonable price. They come bundled with some good quality headphones for free but I suggest you throw in a pair of speakers as well if you dont have anything suitable already.

I have had these decks for about two weeks now and they are totally first class, not that i know a lot about decks but these seem to be great for mixing and beginner scratchin as the torque is high for the price range. The mixer fits nicely with the decks and serves its purpose for beginners but some options are not available on this mixer, maybe likely to change mixer when you get better.
headphones included for the price are pretty amazing, they are really comfortable and give good sound at high levels, and build quality is good for the low price. Back to the decks, they look fantastic and the layout is simple and uncluttered. The dual start/stop buttons are very useful and give the decks a more symmetrical design. Cables included are low quality but are sufficient for bedroom dj's. Set up was easy and as soon as you pull the decks and the platter out the package, you can feel the quality. Slipmats included do there job and do there job. Great starter decks and at such a good price.

as for the decks, going from tt1510 plasticy belt driven dinosaurs to a solid direct drive tt1625 is like owning a new car for the first time. They look super cool, feel soild, love the fancy led's and play very well. Love 'em to bits, well worth the hard earned money.

These decks are amazing, they are my second pair of decs. The decks I had before were direct drive but I had to get rid of them in the end before they died! and these decks are proper good for any style of DJ at any level of skill. They beat a few direct drives out there with their outstanding torque and they beat ALL belt drives! So my advice? in a word, GET! don't waste your money on those cheap belt drive packages you might be tempted by - as they will last about a year max before you get problems! save a little longer and get this package and you will not need another set of decks for years! So on that note, i'll leave you to find your credit cards! enjoy!

This is a good starter package,looks nice but thats not the main point,it has a good motor for its price and will take beginner scratching,good start speed for price,comes with very good mixer a step up from the bluedog.i really do recommend this package everything about it i like great for beginners.i love this package and this is the start of numark making a big come back with their new series:tt1600,tt1625(battle pack only),tt1650(just has target light thats the only thing better than 1625),tt200(eta april 02) and finally the deck that is probably going to be the best deck ever made...the ttx-1,check out its specs the very nice.anyway im borin u.
