brilliant mixer. very simple and easy to use.have had mine for a couple of days and no problems and the cross fader curve control makes scratching a hell of a lot easier but the cross fader has leaked on and of. 2007-03-14
good for beginners

exactly wot id expect for a mixer of this price. does the job fine. ive had mine 9 months and one of up faders has started to crackle if moved slowly but not massively. good to start with but i dont think id buy one if you are more than a beginner. but like i said a good mixer. 2006-12-28
Very good for starting off with

This is a very good mixer, it has a decent layout, a nice solid build, and all of the things needed to start of mixing.

Thus far I have had no problems with the crossfader and everything has worked well.

It is basic, though it is also quite cheap. It is worth the money.

For this price you cannot expect more, I do intend to get a new mixer soon, but this is because now I am more at ease with all my equipment I want more features.

I 100% recommend this to anyone just starting out, or even for those who just want a simple mixer, afterall not everybody wants FX 2005-11-18
Good mixer but poor crossfader

Worth the money if you're getting started

This was my first mixer that I bought two months ago just to dip my toe in the water. As other people have said, for beginners it does everything you want and it does it well.

Especially nice when learning is the headphone xfader which allows you to control how much of each tune you can hear through the cans. A note to others who are buying first set-ups with a view to learning - look out for this feature on the mixer you choose as I think it really helps.

The mixer is solid (I've not experienced any problems with the cross-fader) and the EQ's are cool - cut-out the bass, the vocals or the hi-hats easily.

I've just upgraded to a Vestax PCV-275, but I'll always remember the DM1050 as the mixer that I got started with. 2004-09-19

Very nice and good loking mixer. The crossfader is comfortable and i haven't experienced any problems with it, so far. A scratch dj would so, i guess but when mixing house and similar styles of music it's more than satisfying.
The EQ is really good, especially the bass, you can cut pretty much of everything from any channel... The sound is great and the design too... 2004-07-11
good starting mixer. but crossfader lets it down

this is not a bad mixer. obviously i got this as my first mixer and for the first 2 weeks was very happy. After a few weeks i started messing about with a few basic scratches and the cross fader started to crackle. now this is not intense use this is literally about 2 weeks light scratching. 4 months on and the situation has worsened to the extent that i have had to replace it. this is a shame as otherwise this is a "good" (relatively speaking) mixer for starting out on. easy to get used to and learn mixing and stuff on.
if your a beginner and you never even want to attempt scratching this mixer will be quite adequate. but if your a bit more hip hop and you think you might want to venture into scratching spend £20-30 more on a slightly more hardwaring model which will suit you better in the long run. 2004-02-23

this is a quality piece of hardware. great mixin ability. doesnt leak sound like the DM950. recommend for begginer and advanced 2003-06-07

Brilliant, taking this outta the box and i could feel the build quality.. All the sliders are smooth and the eq's are excellent.. Definatley worth buying if your on a tight budget! Bring it on numark!
