Very Good Turntable
By: djdt
Firstly i am not a DJ beginner, but funds are tight, so i decided to buy these numark turntables, now everyone knows directs are better than belts but these decks really do actually feel like direct drives,u get alot of resistance from this turntable which stops the needles being all jumpy and all over the place people who say that their performance is weak, probobly do not no how to Mix. there is nothing wrong with these turntables, they are way above average, trust me, they look outstanding, they feel like direct drive turntables and they are very cheap, recommend these for begginers and for people who dont have the money to lay out for much more expensive turntables, 5 out of 5 for these TT1610's.

nice one
By: DJAndyC
Brilliant decks for the price, good fun to mess about on and learn.
only problem is that the two decks that i was sent, one goes faster at 0% than the other. makes it very confusing tryng to remember what tracks are faster than others as it depends on what decks you have them on.
seem pretty stable tho so you can run two tracks along side each other for pretty much their entire length and not worry about one slowing down or jumping or whatever.
peace yea

Buy these if you are a complete beginner!
By: Olly King
Okay, first off do not listen to the people who say that the platter stops turning when touching the record. They obviously do not know how to use a turntable correctly.
I bought these second hand about 6 months ago and I think they are amazing. Numark have produced a good quality turntable for such a low price!
I have used 3 different makes of belt driven decks (Citronic, Soundlab and Numark) and these TT1610s are the best of those three. The torque is noticeably high for a belt drive, and so the start/stop time is good and the platter spins at almost its top speed when holding the record.
The anti skate feature is good and does the job well. As are the dual start stop buttons.
I've been using Technics SL1210s at the radio station I dj for and I can understand the limitations of the TT1610 deck, for example, you have to be really delicate with the record when pushing it to speed it up or slow it down. I tend to use the spindle to make small adjustments because otherwise you can slow it down too much and then it gallops all over the place! But for a beginner I think this is fine because it teaches you to be precise and gentle.
So my advice is If you are a beginner then buy these decks to learn with! If anything it'll teach you to be a better beat matcher so that when you move onto a deck with lower wow/flutter (Technics) you will kick ass!

Bad Ass belt Drives!!
By: Guy
well, after startin out on gemini xl 120's buying a pair of TT1610's was a major step up in quality. sturdy aluminium platter that wont stop dead when you touch the record, as someone else claimed and also they stated that the beat comes out after a few seconds, and it does not, stays in beat for ages!

Good Decks 4 beginners
By: Benj
I bought my decks 2nd hand off a m8 and i think that they are great. You can't really notice the fact that they are belt drive. The whole belt drives r useless and the belt will keep slipping off is bollocks If mine r 2nd hand and arn't doing it then i'm sure brand new 1's wont - Got them a few weeks back can't leave them alone
If ur a beginner buy them you can't go wrong

FANTASTIC !!!
By: dan c
the turntable is numark soo you now your going to get quality but i was not exspecting the quality to be as high as it is the turntable for a belt drive has very good torque and dosent run of like other belt driven turntables you just have to be a bit more acurate with the pitch to keep them beat matchd witch isnt that hard. this turntable is perfect for a beginner wanting to do mainly mixin yes u can scratch on the turntable and the needle is solid but it is a belt drive so dont go ova the top. the stop start times are aslo very good and so is the anti scate setting. the alminum platter makes this turntable alot better than the old numark 1600 because the slip mat works a lot better on the metal suface and i feel it makes the turntable a lot smoother and stable this is a fantastic turntable for any begginer dont be put of by the fact it is a belt drive it is top quality. BUY IT

Great deck for the mixing DJ on a budget.
By: Ray
This turntable is excellent for the DJ wanting to do mainly MIXING at an affordable price. You can scratch on it, but you have to be very light handed as the belt will pop off if you stop the platter during play. The turntable needs to be operated on a solid heavey surface as the turntable itself is extremely light. The weight of the turntable makes it very easy to carry and good if your always moving your decks. If you just want to mix at home and do small parties these decks will get the job done at a great price.

Very good for the beginner!
By: Massiv
These were the first deks i bought and as a beginner i was very pleased with them. I have been djing for two years now and i still hav them but i am currently stuck on whether to decide to but the technics 1210's or the numark ttx1's. These deks are very good for beginner djs who want to mix but i if u are a beginner scratch dj then i strongly recomend getting a set of direct drive turntables as the platter is known to wobble slightly and so causing the record to jump and losin your place on the record (unless of course u were thinking of gettin the shure m447s with ur set of deks :s or putting an extremely heavey coin on your headshell!!!(not recomended!)). As for design i think it is a very attractive deck and i reccomend it to any beginner mixing dj.

if you are a beginner then u must get these as ur first pair - exxelent
By: dj chilly
these decks are absolutly ecxelent for the money i paid. the sound quality and torque is VERY good for a belt drive deck. The whole 'when i put my finger on the record, the platter stops' thing is a total lie because i cannot get these babies to stop (apart from when i want them to)so if you are a beginner then u must get these as ur first pair

SAVE UP FOR A MID RANGE DIRECT DRIVE DECK!
By: DJ Robb Quik
A beginner dj friend bought these (without thinking to ask advice first!) and oh my word they are the worst deck i have ever touched in my life. The torque is appalling - touch the record and the platter stops. The pitch adjust is woeful - you beat match and a few seconds later either deck could be galloping off at a random speed. The cart supplied is horrendous - back cuing becomes impossible! But that's what you get - in dj equipment you get what you pay for. If you don't want to spend too much i'd recommend the citronic pd2. I started on citronic pdq's before progressing to 1210's and the step up isn't that big. Avoid these!

Excellent starter decks!!!
By: DJ Clipz
If you are looking for a pair of decks to get you started and into dj-ing look no further. These are brilliant deacks, had mine for about a year or so and they have learnt me all the basics. I am a scratch dj so obviously now looking for upgrade to pull my scratches off better. Only problem cos of the belt they tend to go out of time slighty when beat mixing. Other than that though they are great to start on.

great starter turntable at a great price
By: Orrsy
First decks i bought (a year ago) and still going strong. Excellent value and taught me all the basics in the business. Currently thinking about buying an upgrade but was very pleased with the way these performed. Highly recommended.

Not very good but a damn good buy
By: Ben Jones
These are not accurate decks but they are ideal for starting out. They are cheap enough to satisfy a passing phase and when you get good you can just chuck em away. I have now moved on to some good decks after a year and i grew out of these after about a month so you can imagine how frustrated i have been getting with them. They are not solid, they are not accurate and i am sure they have got much much worse. But so wot, i can mix flawlessly with ease and its all down to the foundation these laid.

it is worth spending more money
By: dan cons
i was reasonably disappointed with these turntables they look the part but there performance was not very impresive. the major problem is that the platter's are unstable and therefore the needle jumps easily. Take my advice it is worth spending that extra money on either a set of direct drive decks or a better pair of belt drives. the one thing that i can say in thier deffence is that the pitch control doesn't wonder out of time like on other decks in this price range.
