Epic!
By: MarkL
OK, close, but not the CDJ-1000s - but thats not what your paying for, is it? If you want cheap nasty kit go for the Numark CM?? whatever's. (Just remember - pay peanuts, get monkeys!) These are great decks and a fantastic introduction to Pioneer CD players. If your a budding bedroom DJ looking to play in clubs that are going to have pro kit these are a great buy, if your a mobile DJ I would highly recommend these decks as a worthwhile introduction to a reliable setup. Well built, well laid out and a pleasure to work with.

old dog!

I've been using the CMX3000 for 2 years now and it is at the same perfect condition as i first bought it! What else do you need? This mixer is Great! The large jog is very handy and the pitch control very accurate. Go for it, it really deserves the price!

Keep your eye on the ball....

I don't know what people are talking about who knock this player for not having a better seamless loop or auto-beatmix. Doesn't it stand to reason that if you're *doing your job as a dj*, you won't need those features at all? Hmmm.....
what the cmx-3000 *does* have is the ability to set the tempo in increments of 0.05%, which is *twice* as fine as you can get with any other cd deck besides the high-end denons and pioneers! That means better beatmatching, and - call me insane here, but - that's the point of djing, isn't it?
besides that, the jog wheels are big and easy to manipulate, the displays are very nice and easily read, and it stores your cue points for you. Again, call me insane, but that looks to me like everything you need to get the job done.
everything else - the scratch mode, the looping, and the "emergency loop" - is really just for fun. No real, good dj would loop 4 beats over and over while he cues the next track, whether it's a seamless loop or not.
a dj cd player shouldn't have to save bad talent. It *should* provide all the tools for people to work and develop, and in that regard, you really can't ask for more than you get in the cmx-3000.

something a bit different

Much prefer cdn-88's more features and better value for money although i did really enjoy using some thing different, simalar workings to the numarks and liked the idea of the jog wheel on the pioneer quite quirky so not to bad i guess love the cdj1000's though next on the shopping list

Good unit

The cmx3000 may not have the greatest loop feature, but the emergency loop is quite handy. It can also play cd-r and cd-rw discs. How about the master tempo? You can change the tempo of the music without changing the pitch. I wonder if numark has considered this on the cdn-88

the truth about the cmx-3000
By: Dave
I really thought pioneer would do better then the numark cdn-88 i compared the pionner to the numarks cdn-88 and by far the pioneer failed the seamless loop feature. On the cmx-3000 it isn't that crisp and again pioneer bmc syc doesn't work not like i use it. Anyway pioneer should really sit down and come up with something soon to beat the field again... If i had to choose a deck it would be numark's cdn-88
