Great Mixer
By: Vik

Best two channel mixer on the market... Perfect for all Dj's. Great Price and extremely reliable. The only down side is the RCA ins and outs...not always compatible with speaker configurations at clubs and bars... 2007-07-24

Great product - So close to perfection, but not!
By: DJ CrAzY PeTe

Any Dj would be happy with this mixer because its great! However, it does have some minor flaws.
The first thing you are going to touch when using this mixer is the on/off switch, right? It feels really cheap and at this point I was a little unsure about the quality of the DJM400. Secondly, the first guy's review is right, the limited headphone monitoring is an odd system on this mixer and it takes some getting used to. Pioneer have made a slip up here by trying to be too clever. Why not keep to the rotary type used on the DJM600? It works fine for everyone elses mixers too! And lastly the volume faders feel nice but dont give you confidence they will last as long as Allen & Heath ones, but then you are buying a pioneer mixer after all. The rest of the knobs and buttons are quality and you can tell this when using them.
Overall, its a great mixer and its likely to have you annoying your neighbours for hours on end from the day you buy it to the day you sell it. The effects are great and will liven up any mix and keep you coming back for more. Its the best out there for the money, you will like it! 2006-07-15
A Mixer of Pure Quality
By: Adam J

I got this mixer about 2 weeks ago now, all i can say is that this is something else, i had a basic starter numark mixer before this and it blows it away a million times over. The effects sound amazing and are all beat matched to the music your playing. Being able to switch the headphones to each channel instead of using a fader like my old one is alot beter. Overall i wud recomend this mixer to anyone begginer or pro as its so user friendly and built like a thing thats build amazingly. 2006-05-01

limited headphone monitoring, otherwise outstanding
By: Pete

At first I was unsure about this mixer due to its limited headphone monitoring. Almost every other mixer i have used has you can manualy adjust the balance between ch 1 and 2 to your own needs. On the 400 by pressing 1, 2 or all of the hp buttons you can change the hp output but are limited to only 7 fixed combinations of sound form both channels. This is not easy to get used to but once you have I realy can't fault this mixer. There's hours of fun with the beat effects and sampler which are excellent, bmp counter seems to be pretty accurate too if you need it. The eqs are nice and powerfull with full cut and faders are smooth. I have used £300-£400 mixers by stanton, vestax and numark but none of them come anywhere near the djm400. Hardcore djm600 users will probably find faults with the 400, but if you only need 2 channels look no further. Top mixer.
