I would never swap my pair of tech´s for anything on the market. Just because nothing is comparable!
By: djcorty
I´ve just bought them - upgrading from numark´s, but they are amazing. The pitch and motor is so accurate. Superb sound and what is important very reliable. I dont like the look of numark, maybe features are cool on ttx´s but do we need them?? Reverse you can make it with your finger if you are skilled enough, variable pitch what for?? I ve never used more than +/-7. The sound beyond this point is so disformed!!! And one more thing, how long do the numark´s last?? 2 years maybe 3 years? And what after, being upset on them that they broke you will buy a pair of tech´s. So dont loose your time get them. They´ve got everything a serious dj needs. To have a reliable, serious and outstanding machine like tech´s are is half of the succes. And dont forget the image!!! Mercedes is not Toyota and Toyota will never be Mercedes!! This is the difference between Tech´s and the other decks. As simple. Good luck in your choice.

Market Leaders!!!
By: matt
I have been a dj for about 12 years, the first year was using a selection of cheaper decks, the second year was when i invested in a set of SL1200 mk2's, I have been a fan of Technics since the day i first used them... the pair i bought were a year old, I had them for about 8 years with no problems at all... literally not one single problem, then I sold them for the same price as I bought them! (£400) I can see the opinion of "nu-skool" Djs, falling in love with the gadgets that come with the Numark and Vestax turntables (variable pitch, reverse switch etc.) BUT.. consider this, I have worked in a record shop which uses all 3 models of turntable for customer use, within 3 years the Vestax and Numark decks have been repaired for major faults (motors) on more than one occasion, but the 6 year old 1210 is still going strong with no problems... I admit that technics could add extra features to the 1210, but if it's at the expense of the build quality... its just not worth it. I now use a pair of 1210mk5's and wouldnt swap them for any other deck on the market... these decks are built to last... remember that technics did it first and are still doing it best!

not better than mk2s
By: kev
exactly the same as the 1210mk2 only difference is that the pitch button doesnt click in the middle, I've had both decks and have also check the specs and researched there is no other difference full stop. now have the mark 2's and removed the little ball bearing that makes it click in the middle by hand after getting instructions of the net. Anyone who thinks that mk5s are 10x better hasnt got a clue

Very good deck solid + accuate
By: UV PRODUCTIONS
Ok this is how it goes. I had bought some tt500's and yes they are amazing. My mate has ttx's witch are also anazing, and yes they do out perform the technic deck on alot of this but not all. 1. the technics have loads less noise on the slipmatt being pushed along the platter. 2. the numark has better anti skating. 3 the technic is more accuate on the pich controll.(very impotant) Its as simple as this. they are both very well made decks, but if you wanna play out then buy technics for obvious reasons. you get advantages with both. You just have to deside do you want to do it for fun and as a hobbie or do you wanna take it further and get gigs. If its the second choice there is no doubt about it that you should buy technics. Doesnt matter what Mk because they both perform the same. I had written a review last year on the numark tt500 and yes i did say 'Technics say goodnight as your time has ended'. How wrong i was and i apoligise for this. I have been mixig now for 6 years. At the end of the day technics are the ones to get for getting gigs. Very good deck all round. Solid and accuate. No wonder they are in all the clubs.

Buy ttx instead
By: Dlocko
Nice deck, to be honest buy a pair of numark ttx1. Technics are only the industry standard now because they have been around so long without competition. Now there are some decks which are better, in a few years they will be the standard but these companies keep updating unlike technics. They will always be better unless technics start making some modern changes. Nice deck to old, not that solid like everyone says. Just hipe

in a league of their own
By: Spellado
A poor student i had to save hard to get these. I'd used the stantons, vestax and numarks but these r in a league of their own. worth every penny. so solid and precise. don't buy ne thing else.

I love these turntables
By: Dave C
I will admit I did buy these turbtables purely on the name and reputation, but they are worth every penny!
I'm a hiphop DJ so I do a lot of scracthing and these decks combined with M447 carts are perfect for cuttina and beat juggling. The other decks in the same price arrange either didn't feel right or were just plain ugly!

What you'd expect from the number 1
By: Matt
By far the best out there, the quality just oozes out of these decks with everything being precise and how they should be. Its a no nonsense back to basics deck when comapred to whats available today and unlike the others, this approach works! 99% of clubs use some variation of them, and theres a reason for that!

Dissapointed.
By: DJ RBSheezy
Dissapointed with my purchase.I cant stand these decks selling to get some TTX1s someone who moaned about the pitch speed control they are wrong and the technics CD player will NOT top pioneer it has nothing on them. You pay for the name and a large clunk of metal they arent evan as solid as the TTX. Its a shame they cant innovate.

1210mk5 - Why settle for anything less??
By: envision
I can honestly say that the £800 i saved for ages to buy the mk5's has been well spent. I wouldn't go near the vestax decks, or the numark decks. The numark decks do not have good speed control, and neither do the vestax decks. They may be good for turntablists and that's about it. I didn't buy the technics decks because of the name, or because they look stunning, but because they are reliable and real work horses. The new pitch control and all the other minor modifications only make it better. Suitable for any style of music, they are. Only 8%? If you slow the other down by 2, that makes it 8% :-)lol !!!! I wouldn't use anything else, same goes for my pioneer djm-600 and my hdj-1000 headphones, and i can't wait to get hold of a pair of sldz1200 cd turntables, cos they will have no more, nor less quality than their predecessors. Nuff said from me, but them yourself and see what i mean.

FANTASTIC.
By: DJ JMC
The all new technics sl1210's mk5's. Not bad if i do say so myself. Probably more suitable for the house or slow hardhouse d.j rather than a hardcore d.j like myself.(unless of course you like hardcore really slow?)
i say this in respects of the no click pitch fader, i probably would have gotten away with a pair of twelve tens respectively, but thats me. Anyway technics rule and thats my view, still a damn good deck!

DAMN!
By: DJ BAKA (chew)
these decks are what you have been waiting for, all you lot, fussing about the clicking pitch control, and only having 8% change, well here you go. I noticed that the platter is alot firmer, and will take a beating. (if needs be)I brought mine about 2 weeks ago in a nearby city, and was suprised that they were still there. I personally dont think its worth splashing out teh extra £50 on them, but at least i can look at some amazing deacks in the morning
